As a member of the Salt Therapy Association, Himalayan Source strengthens its mission of educating others in the benefits of salt therapy, or halotherapy. They continue to work to bring awareness and promote the benefits of halotherapy as it supports respiratory health.
Founded in 2014, the Salt Therapy Association (STA) provides resources, information, research and standards to support, promote and create awareness about halotherapy. STA is the largest organization of salt therapy facilities, professionals, and enthusiasts in the world, with members in the United States, Canada, Ireland, China, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. By breathing in pharmaceutical-grade salt microparticles from a halogenerator, the anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties of Himalayan salt opens airways, reducing airflow obstruction and mucus. As the salt air clears allergens and pollutants from the lungs, it prevents the growth of bacteria. Dry salt therapy has been credited with a positive effect on respiration and oxygen flow, skin conditions, tension, stress and general wellness. Breathing in aerosolized salt microparticles helps cleanse the respiratory tract and strengthen lung function by stimulating the body’s internal processes. Himalayan salt — the only salt used in these halotherapy experiences — contains 84 naturally occurring minerals and salts with research-proven health benefits for users.
